Intel vice president John Bonini confirmed that the Intel Rocket Lake (Intel 11th Gen desktop processors) will release in 2021 first quarter. He shared this news on the medium through a blog post. This is the first time Intel announced the Rocket Lake processors are upcoming in 2021.
These processors will come with an LGA1200 socket. According to Mr. John Bonini PCIe 4.0 is supported by these high performing desktop processors. We can expect DDR5 type RAM support will come with these Rocket Lake processors.
We just found that Intel updated the launch date of the 11th gen desktop processor through a blog post. Intel mentioned the launch date is the 10th week of 2021. So we can expect the launch will come in March 2021.
Rocket Lake is the code name of the 11th gen Intel desktop processors and Tiger Lake is the code name of the 11th gen Intel laptop processors.
Rocket Lake is the 11th gen processors from Intel, Zen 3 is the architecture of the Ryzen 5000 series processors from AMD. At the present time, there is no detailed data available for comparing Rocket Lake and Zen 3.
