Tomorrow, on the 8th October, AMD will be launching the 5800x and 5900x, but as heard from few sources the launch of 5950x and 5600x will be delayed. AMD Ryzen 9 5950x will be the most advanced CPU based on Zen 3 Architecture in a High End Desktop Computer.

5950x AMD Processor – Brief Overview

AMD is straight up launching the Ryzen 5000 series after its successful 3000 series lineup. The 5950 x is expected to be the top performing processor in the AMD lineup of commercial Desktop processors. The 5000 series, codename “Vermeer” will be based on the 7nm Process, which may triumph over Intel’s 14nm i9 and i9 Extreme series desktop CPU.

Ryzen 9 5950x Specs

AMD Ryzen 9 5950 X will be a processor with 16 Dedicated cores and 32 threads, confirmed by AMD Officials. AMD’s clock speed is not announced yet, but we have a rumor from Igor Wallossek of Igor’s Lab that the Base Clock Frequency is 3.5 GHz and the boost clock frequency is 4.8 GHz.

This CPU will support DDR4 Memory upto 3200 MHz and a total maximum memory of 128 GB. Unlike Intel, whose top-class i9 series has a TDP of 165 Watt, Ryzen 9 5950X will have only 105 Watt TDP, credit to the AMD Zen three technology 7nm Lithography.

5950x Leak vs. Official Announcement

Being a top of the line series, AMD Ryzen 5950 x has always been the leakers’ highlight. Many false rumors and renders came into the market and still coming. Although the AMD officials have released not much information about it, only the details, core details, and model numbers are announced.

5950x Special Features

Zen 3 Architecture

The new system of Zen 3 will bring a few new features that will have around 17% IPC gains, a minimum 50% increase in Floating Point Operations and the obvious higher core counts. Zen 3 Architecture will have a unified cache design that will provide double cache memory compared to processors with Zen 2 Architecture.

Per core voltage adjustment

Intel introduced this feature with its 10th Generation Processors, mainly to power the overclockers. Each dedicated core of the processor can be adjusted to have different voltage values, which improves per core optimization. AMD is also bringing this feature with its Zen 3 Architecture.

Introduction of FSRM & ERMS

ERMS stands for Enhanced Repeat Move String, and FSRM full form is Fast Short Repeat Move String. These features were introduced by Intel long ago in 2013 to improve the performance of their processors. AMD is bringing this feature into ZEN 3 CPUs means that they are leaving no stored unturned and doing every small enhancement available to do.

AMD 5950 x Release Date

The launch date was never announced officially, although it was decided that all 4 Ryzen 5000 series processors will be launched in early October. But later, AMD delayed the launch of 5950x and 5600x and embarking only 5800x and 5900x on their live event on 8th October 2020. AMD Ryzen 5950x release date is 5th November, when AMD will hold another live launch event for their Zen 3 Architecture CPUs.

Ryzen 9 5950x Price

AMD announced the price of 5950x on 8th October, priced at $799 only. Although there will not be any cooler given along with this processor, the low price will surely attract many enthusiast gamers.

Ryzen 5950x Cinebench Benchmark

Cinebench R20 is a 3D Rendering Software from Maxon; it helps to calculate the performance of Computer & Server Processors and also of Graphics cards. Here in the table below, we have compared versions of Intel and AMD Processors listed below.

  • AMD Ryzen 9 5950 x
  • AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
  • Intel Core i7-1185G7
  • Intel Core i7-1165G7

Ryzen 5950x Single Core Benchmark

In single-core performance, AMD Ryzen 5950 x has scored 619 points, making it top of the chart among all the processors listed above under the same environmental conditions with all other computer components the same or of similar specification.

Ryzen 5950x Multi Core Benchmark

In Multi-core performance, AMD Ryzen 5950 x has scored 10,244 points, again making it best of the seven processors listed above under the same environmental conditions with all other computer components the same or of similar specification.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900 X

AMD Ryzen 9 5900 X will be announced on 8th October 2020 in a live event by AMD CEO Lisa Su. This processor’s architecture is still a mystery, but some leaks claim that this will be based on Zen 3 architecture. The cinebench benchmark reveals that this processor’s single-core performance will be around 15% better than the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and multi core performance will be 20% better.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600x

AMD Ryzen 5 5600x is set to launch on 5th November, along with the 5950 x. This processor has six dedicated cores and 12 thread counts. With a base clock of 4.0 GHz, AMD Ryzen 5 5600x can be boosted upto a clock speed of 4.6 GHz. AMD Ryzen 5 5600x is rated at 95 Watt TDP, making it a good performer with Zen 3 Architecture.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X vs Intel Core i9-10850K

AMD Ryzen 9 5950 X is the newest processor of AMD Ryzen 5000 series with Zen 3 Architecture. It is based on 7nm Process, whereas Intel Core i9-10850K is the least from 10th Generation Intel Lineup with 14nm Process. The main difference between these two is that 5950 X will have 16 dedicated cores and 32 threads, whereas Intel Core i9-10850K will have only ten cores and 20 threads.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x Vs Ryzen 9 5950x

The main difference between AMD Ryzen 7 5800x and Ryzen 9 5950x is the core count. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x has eight cores and 16 threads, whereas Ryzen 9 5950x has 16 cores 32 threads. The TDP value of both is similar, although in Cinebench 20 Benchmark, 5950x showed significant performance scores over AMD Ryzen 7 5800x.

AMD Ryzen 5950 x vs 3950x

AMD 3950x was the last in the lineup of the AMD 3000 series, which was a very successful one and put AMD on the path of greatness when it launched. AMD skipped the 4000 Series and directly releasing the new 5000 series with Zen 3 Architecture, the latest product of that is the 5950x series. Both have the same cores and threads, but the more modern technology and features of 5950x may make all the difference.

AMD Ryzen 9 4950x Vs Ryzen 9 5950 x

There are conflicting leaks about the AMD Ryzen 9 4950x processor, some are calling this new in the nonexistent AMD Ryzen 4000 lineup, but some are claiming this is the processor that got renamed as 5950x. Both processors’ leaked specs are somewhat similar to a 16 core and 32 thread processor and base clock of 3.5 GHz.
