AMD CEO Lisa Su Just announced the AMD Ryzen 5600x processor coming this fall on November 5th, 2020. Among all the processors being released, 5600x is the cheapest and only processor being bundled with a stock CPU cooler. We will discuss all the details about the processor here along with price against speculated performance ratio.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x is the based model of AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Processor. It will be ready to order from 5th November 2020 at a price of $299. This is the cheapest processor with Zen 3 architecture and RDNA2 Technology that will give great single thread performance.
So, in the list of the 4 processors in AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, this is the cheapest processor with all the same goodies they are getting. And since AMD is calling 5000 series “Fastest in the Game“, there is no reason to think that 5600x will not be the same. In fact, AMD has increased the price of 5600x in comparison to 3600x just for the sake of better “Performance per Core”, as quoted by AMD officials.
Along with the 6 core 12 threads configuration, The AMD 5600x comes with a base clock speed of 3.7 GHz which can be boosted upto 4.6 GHz. The processor runs on a 65 Watt TDP, lowest of the AMD 5000 Series processors. Below are all the specs you will generally need to make an informed decision before purchasing this processor.
Ryzen 5 5600x supports the following technologies
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x supports PCI Version 4.0 which supports 40 PCI Lanes. The improved number of lanes help the attached devices with a theoretical highest speed of 16 GBPS data transfer speed. AMD Ryzen 5000 needs x570 chipset in the motherboards to get the full extent of the available technology.
Apart from the 5600x, all other AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors are coming bundled with free Far Cry 6 this year. So considering past trend where Far Cry is one of the games to check the FPS of any Graphics Card or Processor, it might be indicative that the whole 5000 series is great as gaming cpu.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x dont have any inbuilt graphics but it will support all the high range mainstream graphics cards, and the risk of system bottleneck due to 5600x CPU is almost nil. In that sence, it can be said as a great gaming processor although it cant be used for dedicated graphics.
This is the only processor of newly announced AMD 5000 series that is coming with a free CPU cooler. AMD Ryzen 5 5600x will have Wraith Stealth cooler bundled in the Box. The Processor has the lowest TDP among the lot, only 65 Watt so it be safely assumed that the processor will not need any more extra cooling solutions on medium to heavy load.
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600x will be pried at $299 and will be available to purchase from 5th November 2020 onwards. Some of the users are saying the price is floated if we compare the price of lowest end processor or AMD Ryzen 3000 series. But AMD is selling the price against per core increased performance of 5600x compared to previous generations.
AMD Ryzen 5600x is priced at $299 at USA Website , which can be roughly converted into £230 on cent per cent basis. But AMD did not announce any UK specific price yet, since they are launching the Ryzen 5 5600x in USA first. Still Ryzen 5600x Price in UK is expected to be in between £200 – £250 price point.
There is no official confirmation about when AMD is launching the 5600x variant in Australia or how much that will be priced at. Currency conversion rate available today brings the $299 United States Dollar equal to $414 Australian Dollar, so it is safe to assume the Ryzen 5 5600x Price in Australia will be around AUS $400.
There were lots of speculations on whether the Ryzen 5 5600X and 5950x will be released late, at 28th October Live program or late November this year. But Lisa Su, CEO of AMD announced that 5600x will be released on 8th November 2020, along with all the other 3 Ryzen 5000 series processors – ryzen 9 5950x with 16 cores and 32 threads, 5800x with 16 threads and ryzen 9 5900x with 12 cores and 24 threads.
AMD announced that all the 4 Processors, AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and AMD Ryzen 5 5600x will be available to purchase from 8th November 2020. AMD’s official Website has Notify option to let you know the moment processor is released.
So far AMD do not have any option for Pre Order of AMD Ryzen, only there is option to get notified by them when the Processor release. AMD has the notification system combined for all the 4 processors of Ryzen 5000 series, so the users will be notified as soon as they releases on or before 8th November 2020.
There is no bonus announced for the Ryzen 5 5600x series Processor. However all other processors of Ryzen 5000 series will be free a free copy of Far Cry 6 PC game. The Ryzen 5 5600x being the cheapest of the lot, was not considered for a free game offer.
The Ryzen 5600x Pre Order Delivery Date was not promised by AMD officials, although the released date was announced as first week of November. But since it will be released in USA only, we can expect Processors will be delivered within 7-10 days of ordering.
Ryzen 5 5600x Pre Order delivery time is expected to be from November 8th of 2020. From that day processors will be available to purchase from AMD website.
Ryzen 5 5600x is compatible with any AM4 Series motherboard. Although all the motherboards will not be ready to support advanced technologies of Ryzen 5600x, like PCI 4.0 support. Only the motherboard with x570 chipset will be compatible with PCI 4.0 Technology.
Ryzen 5 5600x will be ready to use in a B450 chipset motherboard and most of the functions will work well with it.
This AM4 series will be able to host the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and can be bundled with all the 4 processors.
There are no reviews available for the Ryzen 5 5600x since processor is not released yet. And so far there are no confirmed news that AMD sent the 5600x to anyone for Pre-test or review.
There are no processor of XT series, that is the series of AMD Radeon graphics cards. AMD Radeon 5600 XT is a popular graphics card released by AMD. The new processor of AMD 5000 series is named as AMD Ryzen 5 5600x.
AMD officials did not announce any new APU series yet for the new AMD 5000 series processors, but may be they will announce in the future. The latest technology 5600x with an inbuilt graphics will be a killer combo.

But the base clock frequency of Intel is 4.10 GHz whereas that of AMD Ryzn 5 5600x is 3.7 GHz which can be compensated by AMD’s latest Zen 3 architecture on a 7 nm Finfet Process. Although 1600k is not as good as core i9-10900k, it performs well to compete with latest releases.
The AMD Ryzen 7 5800x is a 8 core and 16 thread processor where as 5600x is a 6 core and 12 thread processor. Apart from that both processors have almost similar specs which will leads to marginally significant performance differences.
AMD Ryzen 3600 is the predecessor of the latest 5600x series processor. Both have same core and thread count, but 3600 lacks in PCI 4.0 Support, VR Ready Premium Technology and latest Zen 3 Architecture on a 7 nm process.
Intel Core i5 8400 is an old processor released in Q4 of 2017. Despite having same cores counts (6 cores), they have a huge difference in technology, processor generation and thread counts.
