Radeon RX 6700 XT With Navi 22 | A Perfect Low Budget GPU

On Twitter, Patrick Schur recently published some information on GPU named Navi 22. This is a new GPU, which probably comes with Radeon RX 6700 and Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card models. There is no surprise with AMD’s new Navi 22 GPU. The information on Navi 23, Navi 22, and Navi 21 were leaked via firmware updates of macOS.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Specs

The Navi 22 GPU will come with the same amount of Compute Unit count of 40 compared to the previous generation RDNA architecture based Navi 10 GPU. So it means the AMD Radeon RX 6700 series will replace the Radeon RX 5700 graphics card series.

The core count remains the same but the clock speeds and power efficiency will be improved in the new RX 6700 series GPUs to deliver faster performance compared to the previous generation GPUs.

Patrick Schur also shares some information about the new graphics card series power requirements. The Navi 22 XT GPU will probably be used in RX 6700 XT graphics cards according to Patrick Schur.

The expected power requirements of this GPU will be 186W to 211W, which is lower compared to the 225W power consumption of the Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU.

On the other side, the Radeon RX 6700 (non-XT) will be powered by Navi 21 XL GPU. This graphics card’s power requirement would be 146W to 156W, which is lower compared to the Radeon RX 5700 (180W TBP).

Navi 22 GPU is paired with a memory bus of 192-bit. So the graphics cards which will be powered by this Navi 22 GPU, will come with a memory capacity of GDDR6 6GB or 12GB.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Release Date

Board partners have got information from AMD that the Navi 22 GPU will be launched soon than the previously planned release date. The Radeon RX 6700 series graphics cards are expected to launch in January 2021.

The Navi 22 GPU will also available in high-end gaming laptops and notebooks similar to GA104 GPU from Nvidia. The Navi 22 mobile GPU information is currently not available. But with this mobile GPU, AMD can capture the gaming laptop market.
