As we have already disclosed, ASRock Taichi, PowerColor Red Devil, and ASUS ROG STIX LC will all sport a three 8-pin connector; leading motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte has announced that their Radeon RX 6900 XT will be no different.
What are the unique features of Gigabyte RX 6900 XT Gaming OC?
The flagship RX 6900 XT consists of 80 Ray Accelerators, 128 ROPs, and 5120 Stream Processors. It is based on the revolutionary AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture that resembles RTX 3080 and, in few cases, with RTX 3090.
The RTX 3090 sports 24GB GDDR6 memory, but the RTX 6900 XT has 16GB of it, considerably less than the earlier. But at the same time, it has more than RTX 3080’s 10GB memory. NVIDIA has set its vision on producing RTX 3080 Ti, which will have 20GB memory, but the release date is still unknown.
But the AMD Radeon RX 6000 GPU is facing some difficulty because both the custom design and reference model cards are scarce. Due to this fact, retailers may realize the item is unique and subsequently be responsible for increasing the cost of RX 6900 XT GAMING OC heavily.
Gigabyte RX 6900 XT GAMING OC sports an unconventional display output configuration: Dual HDMI 2.1 and dual DisplayPort 1.4. In contrast, the reference model features 2x DP, USB Type-C, and HDMI, which the earlier doesn’t have.
The graphics card will be launched by the end of December, but its clock speed is still unknown. Gigabyte RX 6900 XT GAMING OC has triple 8-pin connectors, but the RX 6800 XT model has two.
