AMD Ryzen 5000 motherboard (Old)

Recently released AMD Ryzen 5000 processors are coming with Ryzen 5000 motherboard support for older motherboards. AMD claimed that AMD’s older 500 series chipset motherboards can be used with the new Zen 3 architecture based Ryzen 5000 series processors.

For this, you need an updated BIOS first. The famous website COMPUTER BASE has published the list of the Ryzen 5000 motherboard (Old).

AMD also claimed the older 400 series chipset motherboards will get the BIOS update for supporting Zen 3 processors in early 2021.

Users of the AMD’s 500 series chipset motherboards have to update their BIOS. The new version of these motherboards BIOS is AGESA 1.0.8.0, which will support Ryzen 5000 series CPUs releasing on 5th November 2020.

People can use the new Ryzen 5000 series processor with their old motherboards. So there is no need to buy the new motherboards for the new processors.
