NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti: What are the latest developments?

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti Specs

NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which was planned to be released, and competition against AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, has reportedly been postponed. Just as AMD disclosed their RX 6800 XT 16GB model, the RTX 3080 20GB variant, a member of Ampere architecture-based RTX 30 models, has been postponed indefinitely by NVIDIA.

We have learned from various sources that NVIDIA planned to launch the Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti graphics card in January and has better Raytracing performance and 4K. Nonetheless, we have received confirmation from Igor that the release has been shelved for the time being.

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti Price

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card is in line to have 20GB of GDDR6X memory and probably features a similar CUDA-core count as RTX 3090 (10496).

The graphics card should perform better in a dollar to performance ratio, despite costing 999 USD, and should be a worthy option over RTX 3090, which may cost around 1499 USD.

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti Release Date

If rumors are to be believed, the release has been postponed till the Chinese New Year, i.e., February 11th to February 17th next year.

What are the launch updates of other variants?

The source, Igor, has also added fuel to the rumor that RTX 3060 will be having two variants. The two variants will contain different CUDA core counts as NVIDIA have done in the past with the Pascal GTX 1060 6GB/3GB. But the GA106-based variant will feature any of 6GB or 12GB memory.

Apart from updates of Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, an exciting fact obtained through our research is that RTX 3050 Ti will be changed to RTX 3060 6GB. NVIDIA has planned GA106 GPU for the original 3050 Ti for good, but they have not yet confirmed their plan with the 3050 Ti model.

However, their intention of building RTX 3050 no-Ti looms will pose a GA107 CPU. The TI model may use the entire chip if it ever sees the daylight.

Igor has also confirmed that one of the two RTX 3060 variants to be launched in the following month, the 12GB one, would be released at the time of CES 2021 (11th to January 14th) the 6GB variant, by the end of January.

Chinese website named, ChannelGate, has also said that the RTX 3060 GB variant is also being delayed, which means that only the RTX 3060 12GB model will be released in January. As always, we will notify you of any new updates.
