On Twitter, Patrick Schur recently shared a screenshot. From that screenshot, we can see the upcoming flagship Big Navi GPU RX 6900 XT comes with a high limit of clock speed compared to the AMD RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT graphics card.

AMD RX 6900 XT Specs

AMD RX 6800 XT is powered by Navi 21 GPU which has a compute unit count of 72. This graphics card’s maximum clock was set at 2.8 GHz by the board partners. This limit was fixed by AMD. For this graphics card, AMD wants a lower maximum clock limit compared to the flagship RX 6900 XT graphics card.

AMD does not want similar performance for both graphics cards. Both graphics cards have the same reference clock and TGP of 300W.

AMD RX 6900 XT comes with a Compute Units count of 80. This graphics card has the highest clock speed compared to the other same generation AMD GPUs. This graphics card comes with an ultimate overclock speed of 3.0 GHz. So we can expect an ultra performance from the flagship graphics card RX 6900 XT.

A YouTuber named der8auer recently shared a video. We can see from this video, he can’t overcome this limit. So it was clear that overcoming this limit is impossible without the required tools. In this test, he used a PowerColor RX 6800 XT Red Devil graphics card.

With a Stream Processors count of 5120, the flagship RX 6900XT is ready to challenge Nvidia’s RTX 3090 flagship model graphics card. So to see this battle, we have to wait for the launch of RX 6900 XT.

AMD RX 6900 XT Price

This graphics card will come with a lower price tag of $999 compared to the $1499 price tag of Nvidia RTX 3090.

AMD RX 6900 XT Release Date

The AMD reference model of RX 6900 XT will be released on 8th December 2020. Two weeks later, the board partner’s custom design graphics cards will be available in the market with some different price tag according to customization.
